YMO Trust is a grassroots charity set up in 2014 by a collective group of British Bangladeshis. The board of trustees include a diverse group of committed individuals of differing backgrounds and ethnicity. All trustees are volunteers who have professional and business lives outside of the charity.

The backbone of the charity is based around supporting children from impoverished backgrounds, who are in or at risk of child labour, to receive education and life skills that will contribute to improving their lives.

Educational support is delivered through the set up of two key centres in Sylhet which can support approximately 130 children. At the centres we employ a small group of teachers and administrative staff to help children receive extra curricular lessons to support their schooling. We call these booster classes. In addition we have provide selective vocational training such as sewing and motor mechanics for young adults, making them more attractive for employment.

We also collaborate with the largest orphanage in Sylhet, to pull resources together to have a greater reach and impact. Here we provide a nutritional lunchtime meal for 500 children and employ two additional teachers to supplement the orphanages pool of teachers.
